2011 Patrol/Narcotic Re-Certification
Just got home from Farmington, NM and we did certify 6 K-9 Teams in Patrol and 7 in Narcotic detection. All did very good, and the Control on these K-9 Teams were second to none. I was very proud of them, now a few days off.

Police Memorial Bike Ride
Road my bike 22 miles yesterday in the Police Memorial Ride for the 19 fallen Texas Officers in 2010 and the 3 fallen MPD officers. I was sad and happy that I could ride for these officers.

Sad Day for Me
Woke up this morning to find my best friend Scout, Son of Tango, had passed away at the age of 10 years. He had cancer, but was up and happy till the end. he was my best Friend and made me laff everyday. I will miss that and him very much, but know he is playing with his dad now, driving him crazy like he always did as a puppy! Good By Scout, you will truly be missed!

THE SIT
One mistake we make is the sit. The person tells their dog to sit and the dog sits, until the DOG makes up HIS mind to get up. So if we allow this, the word sit means to the dog, put my butt on the ground until I the dog make the decision to get up. THIS IS WRONG! Tell your dog to sit and then you the "ALPHA" release him with a release command, which can be OK, Heal, down, or lets go. Teach the word SIT, that means the dog puts his butt on the ground until he or she is told to do something else.
